From the City of Lynchburg: The terms of three Lynchburg School Board members will expire on June 30, 2015. All three members are eligible to be considered for re-appointment. Lynchburg City Council invites residents interested in serving on the School Board to complete an application which may be obtained in the Clerk of Council’s Office, City Hall, 900 Church Street, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or by downloading a copy from the City’s website at www.lynchburgva.gov. City Council will make appointments for three-year terms of office commencing July 1, 2015 and ending June 30, 2018. A public hearing will be held on May 12, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. to receive nominations for City Council’s consideration – appointment or re-appointment to the three School Board positions (one from each district). The public hearing will be held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 900 Church Street, and applications must be received by the Clerk of Council prior to the May 12 public hearing.
