The Lynchburg Hillcats have narrowed down the list of names to six for its “Name the Team” contest. The current name is one of the six, and there are the other five possibilities: Lamb Chops, Doves, Derechos, River Runners, and Love Apples. The team explains the reasoning for each one on its web site, where you can vote until July 19th for your favorite. The name change, if any, takes effect next season.
