Lynchburg man dies in fatal Pittsylvania County crash

From Virginia State Police: GRETNA, Va. – Virginia State Police Trooper K. N. Isom is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash which occurred on January 30, 2016.  The crash occurred at 10:30 pm on Route 40, one tenth of a mile east of Pingy Road in Pittsylvania County. A 2006 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling east on Route 40 when it crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the roadway, lost control and overturned. The 2006 Volkswagen was driven by Cameron Nicholas Long, 19, of Lynchburg, VA.  Mr. Long was wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene. Alcohol and speed were not a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
