City of LynchburgLynchburg officials today will consider approving a trial run for a proposed on-street meter parking program along an active area of downtown. The Lynchburg Parking Authority voted earlier this month, to move forward with the pilot program on a portion of Main Street near the Community Market. City Council will be reviewing a report on the project and is expected to vote on the matter today. The city manager has authority to oversee on-street parking but, according to the News & Advance, as the trial period gets going, a more definitive plan would to be developed for the parking authority to take over.
