city lynchburg logoLynchburg officials are expected to discuss funding in an effort to keep community centers open. Funding in the current budget was eliminated for two of the City’s nine community centers. A recommendation, proposes appropriating nearly $140,000 from the general fund reserve, to continue operating the parks and recreation department managed centers. The measure is supported by city staff, who say approving the funding would provide resources to keep consistent programming. A decision is expected by City Council today.
