Lynchburg City Council today will review a comprehensive analysis report of the state of fair housing. The report which was commissioned in part to comply with federal guidelines is expected to examine local hindrances to fair housing choices throughout the city. The analysis reviewed demographics and population dispersion, public policy, and patterns within the private sector. The firm that conducted the analysis said the concerns identified in Lynchburg are common nationwide. It has been 15 years since the city has commissioned this kind of study. In all there were 25 action items recommended; Council will hear the suggestion and decide whether to endorse them. A public hearing on the issue is planned for 7:30 this evening at City Hall.
