The international Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) unanimously recommended the Lynchburg Police Department for the agency’s eighth consecutive accreditation award. In December 2014, a team of CALEA assessors examined all aspects of the department’s policy and procedures, management, operations and support services.
