From Lynchburg Police: On 09-04-2016 at approximately 0220 hours officers with the Lynchburg Police Department responded to Lynchburg General Hospital after a male subject arrived at the emergency room suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The male victim was identified as Raheem Jefferson, age 19, of Lynchburg. He reported leaving a party in the 6100 block of Fort Avenue before the shooting took place. Jefferson was admitted to the hospital and is listed in stable condition. Multiple shots fired calls were received at approximately 0055 hours in the area of the 7100 and 7200 blocks of Timberlake Road, which is a short distance from the 6100 block of Fort Avenue. It is unknown at this time if these incidents are related. At this this time the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective D. S.
