Lynchburg Police investigate shooting on Park Ave.

From Lynchburg Police Department: On September 8, 2016 at approximately 9:32 p.m., the Lynchburg Police Department responded to the intersection of 8th Street and Park Avenue to investigative a Malicious Wounding incident involving a firearm. A 23-year-old male victim, who was located in the area, reported to officers that he was walking along Park Avenue when he heard a gunshot. He then discovered that a bullet had struck him in the hand. The victim was transported from the scene to the Lynchburg General Hospital Emergency Room with non-life-threatening injuries.
