From Lynchburg Police: This information is an update to a press release dated November 2, 2015 announcing the indictment of Jon D. Deblock on three counts of Obtaining Money by False Pretenses. After a review of the matter internally, it was recommended by his command staff that Officer Deblock’s employment with the LPD be terminated for misconduct. The LPD was in the process of providing Officer Deblock required due process when he submitted his resignation. Officer DeBlock’s employment with the LPD will end on December 2, 2015. Statement of Chief Diaz: “After this matter was discovered by LPD supervisors the department took action to hold our employee accountable. Since taking office on November 18th, 2015 I have reviewed the information related to this case. The LPD Command Staff handled the matter with the utmost professionalism and concern for the integrity of the LPD.”
