From Lynchburg City Police: This update is to provide additional information regarding the malicious wounding that occurred at Sakura restaurant on 10/25/2014 at approximately 2:06 a.m. An investigation has revealed that just before the shooting, a crowd of between 20 and 30 people on the parking lot of Sakura’s restaurant made their way toward the front, right hand corner of the parking lot. A fight between two females then occurred. During the fight, the crowd moved onto a small access road connected to Sakura’s parking lot. It was at that point that the subject received the gunshot. Based on the size of the crowd, it is believed there may be additional witnesses with information that could be useful in this investigation. This incident is still under investigation by the Lynchburg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
