UPDATED October 11: Lynchburg Police released a second surveillance photo today of the man who held up Allied Cash Advance last week. They are asking for the public’s help in identifying and finding him.
PREVIOUSLY: On October 6, 2016 at approximately 14:48 hours Officers with the Lynchburg Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Allied Cash Advance located at 645 Oakley Ave. An employee and witnesses reported that an adult black male armed with a semi-automatic handgun entered the business and demanded money. The suspect then fled the scene on foot with an undetermined amount of money. The suspect was last seen on Norma Street behind the Food Lion. No injuries were reported.The suspect is described as follows: black male wearing light colored blue jeans, a black hooded sweat jacket, black tennis shoes, a red bandana, about 5’9” to 5’11” tall with a medium build, medium to dark complexion, and a beard)This incident is currently being investigated by the Lynchburg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
