WLNI-SLynchburg Police say the department’s Tactical and Negotiations unit was called out overnight after a man barricaded himself in his residence. The call to check on a person’s well-being came in around 4:25 am to the 100 block of Woodland Drive. Police say when they arrived, the man barricaded himself inside and refused to come out. He eventually did leave the residence several hours later without incident.

On today’s date at 4:23 a.m., Lynchburg Police Officers responded to the 100 block of Woodland Drive, Lynchburg to check on the welfare of a subject inside of a residence.  Officers made contact with the male subject and attempted to speak with him. The subject barricaded himself in the residence and refused to come out.  Due to a concern for the individual’s safety and a concern that there was a potential for the involvement of weapons, the Lynchburg Police Department’s Tactical and Negotiation’s units responded. After several hours of negotiating with the subject, he exited the residence without incident. No charges have been filed at this time.
