Lynchburg School Officials Will Likely Move Forward With Budget Without Word From State

The Lynchburg City School Board is expected to vote today on the division’s budget for 2014-2015…even though information about cuts to education in the state budget have not yet been released. Specifics of the state budget are lack…but school officials plan to ask for a vote on the previously presented budget. It includes a 2 percent salary increase for division employees, as well as spending for a variety of priorities and funding for cost increases such as rising Virginia Retirement System rates.
