Several people in the Lynchburg area have been indicted on charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine. The Department of Justice announced Monday, 15 indictments of eight men from Lynchburg, Amherst, Madison Heights, Evington and Roanoke. They are accused of distributing more than 500 grams of cocaine over almost 14 years. About 454 grams equals one pound. Sources say the defendants conspired to possess and distribute “a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine” in September 1998. The News and Advance reports, court records also reference charges stemming from five dates in 2010 and 2012.
