The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Malicious Wounding in Amherst that took place on Sunday December 29th. According to the press release, a fight between two individuals led to felony charges against 43 year old, Allan Ray Whittaker. Whittaker was charged for cutting a second male with a machete on Grandmas Hill Road. Whittaker was arrested in the following week and faces a felony count of malicious wounding; he is being held without bond pending an advisement hearing in Amherst General District Court. The victim was treated for soft-tissue injures and released from the hospital.
