The man responsible for the death of a Lynchburg man, nearly two years ago, has pleaded guilty to murder. 46 year old Jose Antonio Maldonado, was set for a jury trial on Jan. 27 but reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. Maldonado was found guilty yesterday of first-degree murder in the death of 39-year-old Mark Augustus Rowley during a fight in September 2012. An autopsy noted Rowley died from stab wounds to his abdomen. Maldonado underwent a mental health evaluation and was found competent to stand trial. Sentencing is set for April 23; he faces life in prison.
