Man Sought For Cashing Counterfeit Checks

The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a man reported to have cashed counterfeit checks at Wal-Mart. According to the press release, the suspect is described as a black man wearing a red Nike hooded sweatshirt and a gray or black stocking cap. Authorities say the suspect cashed two checks at the store Feb. 16 and left in a maroon vehicle. Authorities offer a reward up to $1,000.
