A charge against a Madison Heights man accused of hitting and killing a sixth grader with his vehicle will head to the grand jury. Dennis Royal Allen was arrested Aug. 9 after a fatal crash on Galts Mill Road in Madison Heights. 11 year old, Kamryn Johnson died at the scene after being hit by Allen while riding her bicycle. According to the News & Advance, Allen had three prior convictions of driving without a license and had been drinking that day. He faces one count of driving after being declared a habitual offender and more charges could be filed in the case. The judge denied a bond request yesterday. Allen faces a maximum of five years if convicted.
