Taking shifts of 13 miles per day, 10 Marine runners are en route to Washington D.C. to raise money — and awareness — for veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries. Sources say there are about 300,000 veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars who have been diagnosed with PTSD. The team which began in Atlanta and reached Lynchburg on Thursday will run 684 miles in all and are expected reach the capital in time for Memorial Day, completing the entire journey in just a week.
