Meeting for Public Comment on New Pump Station and Treatment Plant

A meeting has been planned to allow for public comment on a new Highpoint pump station and the new Smith Mountain Lake Treatment Plant. Both the pump station and plant are part of one project to draw water from Smith Mountain Lake to serve Bedford and eventually Forest. The Bedford County Planning Commission will hear a presentation followed by a public hearing Tonight at 7:00 p.m. The commission may vote to approve the plan, and the projects… the matter, would then go before the Board of Supervisors for final approval.
