Cub Scouting is the first and the largest of the three programs available through the council of the Boy Scouts of America– the Blue Ridge Mountains Council for our region. A free Activity Day for anyone interested in joining is planned on Saturday for the Piedmont District. There are about 726 cub scouts and 561 boy scouts participating locally. Divided into two halves, Piedmont West includes the Lynchburg City and County of Bedford. Piedmont East is made up of Nelson, Amherst, Appomattox and Campbell counties. The event will be held indoors… rain or shine, on January 18 from 9am until 1 at the Heritage United Methodist Church on Leesville Road. Staff will be present to answer questions.
