

UPDATED THURSDAY 11:30 pm — The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office has charged Timothy Aaron Wiggington, 30, of Amherst with 2 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor in regards to his involvement with former missing juvenile, Courtney Paige Moats, 15, of Amherst. Moats who was reported missing out of Amherst County on 04/29/2016 was found safe on Wednesday, May 4th in Lynchburg. Wiggington is currently being held at the Amherst County Adult Detention Center on these, and several other unrelated charges.
UPDATED WEDNESDAY 4:40 pm — The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Lynchburg Police Department, apprehended Timothy Aaron Wiggington, 30, of Amherst in Lynchburg earlier today without incident. In addition, Courtney Paige Moats, 15, who was the juvenile that was reported missing out of Amherst County on 04/29/2016 was also found safe. Wiggington is charged with a count of Grand Larceny and Petit Larceny from a previous incident. Other charges may be filed as the investigation concerning Moats’ continues. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the media and all of you that help spread the information through social media. No other information will be released at this time.

Wigginton is wanted on Felony and Misdemeanor larceny charges out of Amherst County. In addition, he may be in the company of Courtney Paige Moats, 15, who is the juvenile that was reported missing out of Amherst County on 04/29/2016. PREVIOUSLY — News release: The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office needs your help with finding Courtney Paige Moats, 15, of Madison Heights. Courtney is a white female, approximately 5 foot 3 inches tall and weighs 119 lbs. She has dark hair with blonde highlights, blue eyes, and scarring on her arms. She was last scene at her residence around 10:00 pm on Thursday, April 28th, 2016. She suffers from medical conditions that cause us to be concerned for her well-being.
