It will be a nice long weekend for some…Monday is a federal holiday and non-essential government offices will be closed and mail won’t be delivered. Admission to all 401 national parks will be waived in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. In Lynchburg on Monday morning, the 16th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Breakfast will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Lynchburg Holiday Inn on Main Street downtown. Tickets can be purchased at the Lynchburg Public Library. Monday afternoon, Campbell County’s Branch of the NAACP will host its 20th annual celebration of King’s birthday. The event begins at 2 p.m. at Rustburg High School. AND Wintergreen Resort is hosting a Martin Luther King weekend – it began today.
