The Campbell County Public Safety Director is expected to ask for approval today, for additional career EMS staff and corresponding equipment. The Board of Supervisors will also consider a new EMS fee schedule and repairs for the Rustburg Rescue building. Currently, the county has 19 full-time EMS employees and one part-time employee. According to sources, 15 of them are assigned to three 24-hour shifts with five on each shift to staff the two medic units around the clock. The request is for six new full-time employees. The board will also consider approval for using money from the capital improvement plan for rescue vehicles and facilities to renovate the Rustburg Rescue building.
