Preservation was the outcome—that’s the word regarding the sale of Natural Bridge. A conservation group is expected to take possession of the Virginia landmark next month. An announcement was made in November, that a tentative deal that would allow a regional nonprofit group with holdings in Virginia and other states to own the property. The group has asked not to be named until it receives final government approval for the purchase, which is expected to close at the beginning of January. The area and attractions draws 200,000 visitors a year, is expected to remain a natural area AND may eventually become a state or national park.
