Opponents of a proposed natural gas pipeline made their position clear Tuesday night. A board of supervisors meeting was the first opportunity for Nelson County residents to hear directly from Dominion Resources. WDBJ-7 reports, representatives shared details about their proposed “Southeast Reliability Project,” a 550-mile pipeline that would carry natural gas from West Virginia to North Carolina. Dominion officials say they’ve made no final decisions about whether to build the pipeline, and the project still needs federal approval. The company says it will share more information and host several open houses about the project before construction begins.
