James-River-Association-logoA panel of speakers appeared in Lynchburg yesterday to kick-off a new protection campaign from the James River Association. The initiative, “Our River at Risk,” was launched by the nonprofit advocacy group to address the hundreds of sources of industrial toxins that surround the James River; while seeking new standards for chemical storage facilities and coal ash ponds.. The community meeting on Thursday night was part of a series of sessions JRA is holding across the state to raise awareness and initiate a public discussion.
