A Lynchburg interactive children’s museum is being recognized for excellence in public service. Amazement Square, which celebrates it 13th anniversary this month, is among only 30 finalists for the National Medal for Museum and Library Service. The award recognizes institutions that take innovative approaches and exceed the expected levels of community outreach. Ten medals will be presented this year. This is the second year Amazement Square has been a finalist for the medal, but would be its first win. The decisions will be announced in late April.
