Amherst County Public Schools will receive the same level of funding in the coming year, as in the previous year. The Board of Supervisors on Thursday voted to appropriate level funding to the school system. According to the New Era Progress, the motion to level- fund the schools was an attempt to balance the budget without a tax increase. A newly established divisional efficiency study, will attempt to identify and recommend cost-saving measures within the school system, and officials will likely implement recommendations by consultants. The budget is set for adoption later this month.
