UPDATED FRIDAY 2:45 pm — From the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office: As reported on Sept. 1, the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the death of a male subject in the 4800 block of Three Creeks Road in Gladys. The Sheriff’s Office received a call on Sept. 1 at about 8:16 a.m. about the body of a male subject found outside his residence. The body has been identified as Gordon Timothy Craft, 57, of 4849 Three Creeks Road, Gladys. Craft, who lived alone, was found unresponsive on the front porch of his home as early as 7 a.m. on Sept. 1. Craft had some minor visible injuries to his body, and there was evidence of a fall on the back deck area of the mobile home. An autopsy was performed on Sept. 2 at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke. The Medical Examiner did not discover anything in the autopsy that would be indicative of foul play. There were also findings consistent with the decedent having experienced a medical event just prior to his death. More tests to include toxicology are being performed to aid in the investigation. At this time, the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the death of Craft. PREVIOUSLY: The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what it calls a suspicious death in the Gladys area. Deputies were called this morning to the 4,000 block of 3 Creek Road, just south of Red House Road, where a man’s body was found on the porch outside the mobile home. Crime scene tape went up around the property as deputies investigated.

Guthrie said that the sheriff’s office responded to a call at approximately 8:16 a.m. Thursday regarding a male subject who was unresponsive outside the residence. The sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation. More information will not be given out until notification has been made to family members.
