The Campbell County Board of Supervisors last week approved proposed changes to the county code for the semi-annual update. Twice a year, the board votes on updates to the county code. Some of the changes are mandated, a result from action of the Virginia General Assembly. The Altavista journal reports, some of the updates included changes to the code to accommodate the new mandated storm-water regulations. According to the article, the program makes the technical criteria for water quality and pollution reduction more stringent. The fee structure will also be different and higher than before. The overhaul to the Virginia Storm-water Management Program went into effect July 1.
