Lynchburg police investigating armed robbery at Wendy’s

Lynchburg PoliceThe Lynchburg Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at the Wendy’s on Memorial Avenue.

An employee tells police the suspect walked into the restaurant just after 11:00 p.m. last night with a gun and demanded money. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was hurt during the incident. Authorities say the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. Continue reading for the full press release.

Full Press Release from Lynchburg Police

On June 2, 2016 at 2106 hrs, the Lynchburg Police Department responded to an armed robbery at the Wendy’s located at 2510 Memorial Ave.  Officers arrived and spoke with an employee of the business.  It was reported that the suspect entered the business and demanded money from the register, while also producing a handgun.  The suspect then exited the business with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, and fled the scene on foot.  The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as follows:

Black male, middle age, approximately 5’8”, average to stocky build, and dark clothing.
