Lynchburg woman wins big for second time in Virginia Lottery

Veronica ParkerFrom the Virginia Lottery: Who says lightning never strikes twice in the same place? Not Veronica Parker. Nine years ago the Lynchburg woman won $50,000 playing the Virginia Lottery’s Cash 5 game.  Now she’s won a prize twice as large. Ms. Parker won $100,000 in the December 6, 2014, $1,000,000 Money Ball drawing. “It’s a little mind-boggling to win a second time,” she said as she claimed her prize. “I never thought I’d win a first time!”  She bought the winning ticket at Quik-E Foods, 1200 Lakeside Drive in Lynchburg.  The winning numbers were 4-11-15-25-31. She selected her numbers at random. The Gold Million Dollar Money Ball did not come up in that drawing. If it had, the top prize would have increased to $1 million.  “This is truly a blessing,” she said.
