Police identify Lynchburg man struck by train

Lynchburg PoliceFrom Lynchburg Police Department: On December 29, 2015 at approximately 10:16PM, officers with the Lynchburg Police Department responded with Lynchburg Fire and EMS, to the railroad track near the dead-end of Logans Lane, to investigate a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a Norfolk-Southern freight train.  The victim, later identified as 37-year old Michael Glenn Rawlins of Lynchburg, was pronounced dead upon the arrival of EMS personnel. At this time, no foul play is suspected in this incident. The case remains under investigation by the Lynchburg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
