October Trial Date Set for Man Charged With Father In Law’s Murder

An October trial date has been set for a Lynchburg man charged with capital murder in the death of his father-in-law in Campbell County. 51 year old, Vincent Earl Spinner, is charged with stabbing to death, 89 year old James C. Payne, of Rustburg on Aug. 3, 2012. Defense and two lawyers with the Capital Defense Office, brought several motions before Judge on Friday. Three were denied, one approved; a ruling on another is expected to announce during a motions hearing set for Aug. 26– Two more motions hearings are scheduled in September, before Spinner’s October 6 trial date.
