Officials warn of census scam

From the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office: We have received reports of a paper based census type scam. Individuals have received an envelope marked “Official Business” from an address containing Census Bureau in the title. Inside the envelope was a multipage survey style document that asked for identifying information such as social security numbers and names of all individuals in the household. This is a scam. Please do not respond to this correspondence.
