Could the Keystone pipeline – if approved and built – have prevented an accident like the recent crude oil rail-car fire in downtown Lynchburg? 
Cindy Schild is a spokesperson for the American Petroleum Institute…which supports construction of the pipeline from Canada to refineries in the Gulf of Mexico…Schild says if the Obama administration allows the Keystone pipeline to be built after environmental impact reviews are completed, it could deliver the more-flammable crude from North Dakota’s Bakken oil fields to the Gulf – meaning it may not have to wind up going east on trains – through cities like Lynchburg: Schild says U.S. Senator Mark Warner supports construction of the Keystone Pipeline … while junior Senator Tim Kaine does not at this time.
