From State Police: At 1:52 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 1), Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash in Amherst County. A tractor-trailer traveling on Route 29 ran off the road and crashed. There is one confirmed fatality. The crash remains under investigation.
