lynchburg-museumThere are still a few slots remaining for this Friday’s Pirate Night at the Museum. The event will introduce children to the history of pirates on the James River –Blackbeard, Ann Bonny, Mary Read, and others. In addition to pirates, the exhibit features plants and animals found along the James, early settlements, Native Americans, batteau life, and more. Activities include a scavenger hunt and making a pirate hat, eye patch, pirate flag, and ship. Snacks of pizza, popcorn, and juice will be provided while the kids are watching a movie. Pirate Night is Friday from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, for children ages 8 to 12,  at the Lynchburg Museum located at 901 Court Street.
