Lynchburg officials say it is critical that the Pedlar Gravity line is in good repair and operational at all times. The gravity line is essential for the transmission of raw water from the source, which is Pedlar Reservoir, to area filtration plants for treatment and distribution to citizens of Lynchburg and portions of the surrounding counties. The City’s Department of Water Resources has established an annual maintenance inspection program of the line, in order to check for defects and safety hazards. The inspection program will begin Monday, April 7 and continue until on or about Monday, April 28. If issues are discovered, repairs will be scheduled.
