From Lynchburg City Police: On August 16, 2016 at approximately 03:06 AM, Officers with the Lynchburg Police Department responded to a report of an attempted robbery at the 7-11 located at 2311 Bedford Ave. Upon arrival the store clerk reported that a black male (5’9 ”,180lb, wearing a black hoodie, light blue jeans and a red bandana covering his face) entered the business displaying a handgun, and demanded money. The store clerk refused to give the suspect money at which time the suspect fled the scene on foot and ran toward Rivermont Ave. No one was injured during the incident. This incident is currently being investigated by the Lynchburg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Det.
