State police are investigating an accident on Rt. 601 in Halifax County, that killed one teenager and seriously injured another Tuesday evening. Troopers say 17 year old, Charlie Phillips, Jr., was killed when the car he was riding in went off the road and struck a tree. Media outlets report, the 17 year old driver was taken to the hospital. But there is no word on his condition. Both teens are from Virgilina. Police say charges are pending.
