Police in Lynchburg are investigating several 911 calls they received yesterday and believe the same suspect is behind all of them. It all happened around 5:30 p.m. As officers responded to a man with a gun at Younger Park, they received another call that a man pistol whipped another man on the head as he walked in the 2300 block of Gill Street. A third call came in a few minutes later about a man with a gun, yelling at a customer inside the Campbell Avenue Super Store. Witnesses say the suspect got into a black four-door vehicle, possibly a Toyota Camry.
Around 10 minutes later, police received a call about an attempted carjacking in the 2000 block of Mosby Avenue. The suspect attempted to force his way into the vehicle, but the driver got away unharmed.
