Bedford County deputies are warning citizens about a possible email scam. Apparently several people have already reported the scam. Media outlets report, the email claims the US Department of Treasury will release $500,000 in exchange for a $150 deposit and account information. Authorities say there is not a single government agency-federal, state or local- that will ever request bank account or sensitive information via email or request payment over email. If personal or sensitive information is needed, there will be a request that you come in person.
