Amherst County is considering the possibility of a tax increase as a means to bridge a budget shortfall. If approved, this will be the second year in a row the locality will has raise real estate and personal property taxes. A public hearing on the proposed budget is set for April 8 at 7 p.m. at Amherst County High School.
