Virginia_University_CatalogLYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) _ The president of Virginia University of Lynchburg has resigned. President Ralph Reavis announced his departure this week, about eight months ahead of schedule. The 75-year-old educator has been president at VUL for 15 years. Provost and executive vice president Kathy Franklin was named interim president. Reached Wednesday by the News & Advance, Reavis simply said it was time to step down and declined to comment further. A search committee has been formed to find his successor. Virginia University of Lynchburg is a small private historically black institution.
