The Nelson County Commonwealth’s Attorney announced this morning that a grand jury has indicted Randy Taylor with first degree murder of Alexis Murphy. Taylor has also been indicted with first degree murder during the commission of an abduction, abduction with intent to defile, and an unrelated grand larceny charge. According to sources, probable cause was found for the charges—but no other details have been released at this time.

The Nelson County Commonwealth’s Attorney will hold a press conference this morning concerning the Alexis Murphy case. The news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m., but officials have not announced what will be discussed. The suspect charged in the teenager’s disappearance, is due back in court this afternoon. Randy Taylor is scheduled for a pre-trial motions hearing, but according to media outlets, the court clerk said no motions have been filed since a gag order was put in place nearly a month ago. Taylor is charged with abducting the 17-year old, who was last seen August 3, leaving a gas station in Lovingston. Taylor’s trial is scheduled for February.
