A study released by the Virginia Fire Services Board in December has sparked a debate between Amherst County Supervisors. The survey was reviewed by the board on Monday during a work session of priorities. Some officials believe communication tops the list– but for others, it’s the restructuring of the Emergency Services Council, which recently voted to reduce its membership by removing outside county agencies. In the end, the board decided to consider the reorganization, which will require a change to county code, at a later date.
