The Roseland Mansion on Graves Mill Road is under contract to be bought and restored. The site is one of the last remaining large tracts of undeveloped land in the city, according to the News & Advance. It is also on the state and national historic register. The entire proposal requires a rezoning and conditional use permit from City Council. Up for review includes a portion of the plan that calls for 260 apartments, town-homes and luxury condos. It also includes a cluster of specialty shops and restaurants and a business park. The plan is tentatively scheduled to go before the planning commission on Jan. 8.
